RAF Family Fun Day

We were commissioned to provide an Outdoor PA system covering the flying line for an Air Display at RAF Wattisham, for their Annual Families Fun Day.   The system was required to relay commentary for The Red Arrows and AHDT Apache, from the control tower to a couple of thousand spectators behind the flying line.

We deployed pairs of d&b audiotechnik E8 loudpseakers mounted across twin forks and raised on 3.5mtr winch stands, to produce evenly distributed sound coverage along the line of over 100 metres.

Sennheiser 300 series RF equipment with directional paddle antennae were positioned on our control van, to receive a strong wireless signal from the control tower, around 70 metres distant.

The weather was perfect for the displays and the fun day was enjoyed by all.

Following the event, we received this commendation from the Station Commander... "Thank you for such a splendid event yesterday. These things do not happen without considerable hard work, BUT that was the most impressive Families’ event I can remember in 23 years’ service – a fitting way to mark the 60th and 75th birthdays of the 2 corps."

We regularly provide Outdoor PA systems for flying display line events - get in touch and let's discuss what we can do for your next event, to ensure all spectators can hear everything loud & clear!
